best pullup bar for a sturdy door frame

In my opinion this is your best option for a home pullup bar. Because the mounting bracket is screwed into the door frame, the bar is as sturdy as your door frame. You can also mount it to allow doors to close, and it is pretty visually unobtrusive, so I just leave it up all of the time. I am 165 lbs and it is sturdy enough to do toes-to-bar. That being said, I live in an old, well-built home, so my door frame are thick, solid hardwood. If you live in a shoddy college apartment (like I did at one point) it may be less stable. If you have metal door frames, you may not be able to mount this at all. The installation is more time consuming than other bars. You need a drill, screwdriver, and a level to install it properly, but it is well worth the extra effort to have a dependable, minimalist pullup bar.

Works great for me @ 245lbs

I like this bar it was cheap and it does the job. Only complaint would be that the bar can spin a tiny bit if not tightened properly And do to the nature of the design (one small bar inside a larger diameter bar) the grip on one side is smaller then the other. Thankful the provided neoprene hand protectors reduce that a bit. All in all great for the money
